Don
Hiya Don,
This is a good news/bad news mail. Or rather bad news/good news!
Bad news is that there’s been a lot of turmoil going on recently within The Strangers. All to do with our drummer not wanting to rehearse. To cut a long story short, he quit the band at the weekend. We tried to get him to honour your gig but he wasn’t willing.
Good news is that the other band I play with is (obviously) free this Saturday so can step in. In fact, when you contacted The Strangers, the first reaction was that the gig was more suited to my other band but I never try and play one band off against the other.
So, assuming you are happy with it, rather than The Strangers, I’ll come with my other band, the Cheese Puff Death Squad. Hope you like the name! We’re a bit heavier than The Strangers and, in my opinion, much more suitable for a bikers gig than The Strangers.
I’ve attached our current song list and you can see the band in action on our web site http://www.cheesepuffdeathsquad.com/ I trust you’ll think the Cheese Puffs are a suitable replacement. Of course, if you choose to cancel, that is your right and I understand. Just let me know.
The Cheese Puffs normally play around a 70 min first set and a 90 min second set but we would be happy to cut back to suit your requirements with raffles/prize giving/DJ etc. Just let us know how long you want and we’ll adapt. If there’s any songs you’d particularly like us to play, just let us know. We’ll let people know they can pay on the door so, hopefully, get a few more there on the night.
Don, I’m really sorry to let you down with The Strangers but I’m only 20% of that band whereas I can 100% assure you that the Cheese Puffs will more than compensate! We’ll be with you by 7.30 and if you want us to kick off at 8.30, we’re happy to do so. Just let us know what you want and we’ll be happy to oblige.
See you Saturday.
Cheers
Buz
